Kindalove
I recently had the opportunity to experience Coachella2026. I can wholeheartedly say that my most anticipated set to see and my favorite set of the festival was Dijon. There are so many reasons his set makes it to the top of my list, but the number one reason is how overcome with emotion it left me. The amount of love between the stage and the crowd was unbelievable. I felt so incredibly grateful to be a part of something so beautiful at that moment. Leaving his set made me think about how lucky I am to have experienced love in this life.
It all got me wondering about the idea of knowing when you’re in love. So, I asked multiple people in my life this one question. “How do you know when you’re in Love?” I’ve gotten a lot of different answers. One person stated, “Getting excited to wake up to them in the morning.” Another person said, “When I’m doing a random errand run and start thinking about what she would like and what I could surprise her with.” I also got the classic answer of “when I start wanting to plan my future with him.” One thing they all have in common is how unique the experience is to each of them.
Some backstory about Karizma. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love love. I get emotional over the littlest of things. The other day, my boyfriend and I were walking on the beach, and I saw an elderly couple working out together. I got so worked up just thinking of the entire life they've spent together to get to this point of going on a jog at the beach. Do I know anything about these people? No. But the idea that they could have lived such a long life together, filled with so much love, made me feel something. It's the same feeling I get when I see a family going to the movies, spending the day at Disney, or even getting Ice cream. I just can’t help but think of how much love they’re filled with.
So how does Karizma know when she’s in love? Music. I attach music to every aspect of my life. Even the people. I know I’m in love when I relate to someone singing about the complexities of love, how beautiful it is, and all the feelings you feel when you're really in it. And not the aspect of wanting what they’re singing about. But actually being in it. When someone comes to the forefront of my mind, and I know that I feel all of those things with that person. That is how I know.
At Dijon’s set, I couldn’t help but keep thinking the same thing over and over again. “I wish he were here.” Just to preface, I am the kind of girl who can enjoy things without my boyfriend. But I say that because I believe everyone should experience hearing someone perfectly capture what it means to be in love, while being held by the person who makes you feel it the most. So, if you ever get the opportunity to experience anything I’ve spoken about, take it, because loving someone and being loved by someone in this life is one of our greatest blessings.
